Bernard de Villèle is an award winning hotelièr and entrepreneur and in 2003 the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences voted him one of the finest hotelièrs worldwide. Bernard is a fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, a member of the Institute of Directors of Great Britain, a member of The Chaine Des Rotisseurs and a Trustee of The American Academy.
He holds a degree in Hotel Management from the world-renowned school Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland and completed a food and beverage course at Cornell University in New York State.
Bernard has spent three decades serving as a senior executive and in general management capacities with some of the leading global brands including Hilton International, Intercontinental, Four seasons, Rosewood, The Savoy Group, Orient Express, and TAJ hotels.
Some of the highlights of Bernard's career were the opening of the Lanesborough hotel in London, the transformation and re-branding of La Samanna hotel in St Martin FWI and the creation of 51 Buckingham Gate voted by Condé Nast Johansens as the Most Elegant London hotel in 2005.
He is also very active in all matters of corporate social responsibilities, training, coaching and is a keen environmentalist who was recently the Eco Tsar of Guoman Hotels where he worked tirelessly to reduce the carbon print of the CIE.
Bernard believes that true luxury is in the emotion and that hotels, spas and residences should provide a sanctuary for their guests to experience the true art of hospitality and luxury delivered with the human touch.
Bernard has successfully managed the re-branding and repositioning of non-performing assets. He is totally driven to ensure that financial targets are exceeded.
Bernard is multilingual and he is passionate about the Hospitality Industry.
